ALEX was born in Vienna, Austria. Since his childhood he loved drawing cartoons. ALEX success with his cartoon illustrations started already in the early 80ies. Since this time he has had exhibitions all over the world,starting in Vienna and Salzburg as far as in Rio de Janeiro. ALEX worked together with Friedensreich Hundertwasser, translating his drawings for the project ”Festival of Fantasy“ into three-dimensional scenes and objects. ALEX trademark are the wellknown cartoons of the three characters Mouse ”Cheese“, elephant ”Little“ and cat ”Sugar“. They became popular as ”Free Cheese & Company“. His style is humoristic; his cartoons represent scenes from daily life situations which are very easy to relate to because all the drawings are bold, friendly and aesthetic. His characters can be found on a number of different products. Their success can be explained by the unique mixture of humour and emotions combined with ”Zeitgeist“. And last but not least because they are drawn by the hand of a master, their ”Dad“ ALEX. ALEX was awarded the ”Carandache Award“ for best artist in the category ”Illustration“ at the annual Cartoon Fair in Rome in 2005.
