With more than one million art prints sold, Franz Heigl (1937-2011) is one of
the most published and popular contemporary artists in Germany.
The Bavarian artist was trained as a poster and advertisement artist. Since
the end of the 1980s until his death in autumn 2011 Franz Heigl had his own
gallery in Chiemgau and worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist.
Reasons for his extraordinary success were the versatility of the artist and
the positivity of his images. His themes ranged from flowers to still lifes and
landscapes, while he often combined several themes such as still life and
landscape.
His pictures are also successful in the licensing sector. There‘s a broad
variety of products featuring his images, ranging from high quality porcelain to
stationery, tableware products and greeting cards.
